Francisco Umbral
Trayectoria literaria Nacido en el madrileño barrio de Lavapiés, en 1936 se trasladó con su familia a Valladolid. En 1940 se matriculó en la escuela José Zorrilla, que abandonó a los once años para ingresar —sin vocación alguna— en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios. Tenía catorce años cuando entró a trabajar de botones (luego de auxiliar) en la sucursal vallisoletana del Banco Central.
