Nicolás María Azcárate
(La Habana, Cuba, 1828 – ¿?). Periodista y político. Miembro del Partido Reformista. Partidario de mantener el vínculo de unión entre Cuba y la metrópoli. Fundó el diario La Voz del Siglo (6-XI-1868), en el que trabajaron Segismundo Moret, Francisco Silvela, Enrique Pastor Bedoya y Luis Vidart (vv.). Dirigió La Constitución y La voz del pueblo. Negoció en Cuba, autorizado por el Ministerio de Ultramar, las condiciones para evitar la insurrección de 1869. En Méjico fundó el diario El eco de ambos mundos. Autor de Votos de un cubano...
